Samenvatting

This instructions document served as a guideline for contributing authors to write a country-specific chapter for the Palgrave Handbook of Disability Sport in Europe. Policies, Structures and Participation (eds. Van Lindert, Scheerder, & Brittain, 2023).

In this handbook, the analysis focuses on the policy and organisational landscape of disability sport, or in short the policy system of disability sport, and on the sport participation by people with disabilities, as well as the facilitators and barriers they experience towards active participation and involvement in sport and physical activity.

The country-specific chapters represent the current state and body of knowledge, and are structured following a standardised framework to enable cross-national comparison, as explained in the instructions document.
